My second visit. Both times i was there, I was impressed by the food offered. The spicy touchdown roll is amazing. All the other rolls we had were equally excellent, I would very much recommend this restaurant for a meal.
Wonderful restaurant in a strip mall. Walk in the door and you are transported to a luxury restaurant. It's really busy on the weekend, but during the week it's easy to get in and enjoy. We went at 3 pm. Had great appetizers, and the sushi was excellent. Our waiter, Elijah, was professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. This is definitely a place to go! Instead of Crab Rangoon they have Crab Poppers that actually have crab in them, fried to perfection with ponzu sauce. I liked the soft shell crab tempura better than the calamari tempura but both were good and tender. None of that rubbery stuff you get at other places. The Beef Sashimi was very tender and delicious too. Update... I went again today at around 3 pm... It was lightly staffed but service was still great. Had the beef sashimi which was excellent yet again. Also had spicy salmon roll, eel roll, Queen spider roll, and yellow tail. We ate all of it and were very happy. I highly recommend... Note also that they serve you a small salad and miso soup before they bring your meal.
What an amazing restaurant! We were seated right away. The food was delicious! The sushi was fantastic and the calamari tempura was perfect. They even have hibachi. Why wait in a huge line at Nakato when you could be at Umi? We’ll definitely be returning!
Umi has the best Sushi in Springfield. The service is always great, and the food is extremely fresh and prepared quickly. The salmon especially is outstanding. The OOH Roll is out favorite (if you like salmon), the Springfield roll has steak in it and the Golden Bridge roll is a regular item we order.
Warm and comfortable atmosphere. Exceptional service. Great sushi. Especially enjoyed the Ooo Roll and Rainbow Roll! Great place for a date night or outing with friends.
Tried this restaurant out tonight and it was delicious! We had sushi and it came out quickly and our server was very attentive. Atmosphere was great as well.
So. So. SO good my husband and I went here for my birthday, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was great, and the atmosphere was really calm and peaceful which is a weird way to describe a restaurant but that’s how it felt! lol it was so nice. And the food was incredibly yummy! This is my new favorite sushi place. I got the ninja roll which was delicious (although the pieces were HUGE and we were both laughing so hard at me trying to fit them in my mouth ) My husband got the teriyaki chicken hibachi and loved it. We had a great experience here and can’t wait to go again!
I am no sushi expert, but, this was an amazing experience, great fine dining. This place is always busy and I recommend making a reservation. Great appetizers and the presentation and food was amazing. I definitely recommend giving it a try
